Katy has joined us from Plymouth University, SW England, where she gained an Honours degree in Marine Biology and Coastal Ecology. She will spend the next two years working towards her MSc in Geography as a member of the Geo(bio?)matics lab. Her work will be focussed on testing the capabilities of an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) marine technology developed by the Merlin Lab, Memorial University, for conducting coastal marine habitat mapping.
Congratulations to André Roy for the completion of his Master’s thesis titled “Mapping capelin demersal spawning habitat off Northeast Newfoundland”. André did his thesis as part of our Marine Habitat Research Group in the Geography department and is working as a hydrographer for the Canadian Hydrographic Service (CHS).
